Yesterday I had the privilege of attending Googles Agency Day at the London office based in Kings Cross. Nathan our lead web developer was blessed enough to be invited along so we got to tag along for the day and check out some of the new up and coming technology and what to expect in the future. Walking into Google headquarters was awe inspiring. The place was huge and felt like stepping into the future. I think we must have spent 10 minutes just staring upwards in awe at the of the size of the place, that and trying to name all the post-it note characters decorating the inside of the building which looked fantastic.
There were keynotes throughout the day from some amazingly talented individuals, industry leaders and experts about what new tools and technologies to keep an eye on going forward. As well as an abundance of helpful advice and information on what the future of developing will be like and which areas are likely to see increased growth down the line.
The day started out with an introduction from Rupert Whitehead, the regional lead for agencies day in Europe providing an overview of what to expect from the day.
With talks from:
Nick Butcher – Design advocate for Google
Amit Chopra – Leads the Google developer agency programme
Jason Wong – Solutions engineer for Google
Kevin Fives – Business development for Google play
Ewa Gasperowicz – Developer programme engineer focused mainly on progressive web apps
Krzysztof Bielski – Technology manager part of the google assistant team
Wm Leler – Senior software engineer developer for Flutter and Dart
Karim Beguir – Co-founder and CEO of Instadeep
The day was chock full of amazing information from everyone. I didn’t think it was possible to learn so much in such a short amount of time. I would like to say a massive thank you to all who spoke at the event. It truly was a great learning experience for me. It feels like we’ve come away with a treasure trove of knowledge that we can’t wait to put into practice.
Each speaker was truly brilliant and gave so many resources and tools to help everyone who attended. It’s great to see developers from all over Europe coming together to discuss the industry and learn from each other. We will be doing a more in-depth write up shortly with more details on the whole day so watch this space.
