Snapchat partners with Jeff Koons to bring in his iconic sculptures to its app.
Last week Snapchat users could explore his work in reality at select locations around the park. The balloon dog will be digitally placed in Hyde Park in London.
If you get near one of his sculptures the app will point you in the right direction, evens lets you know if you’re heading the right way, it then will appear on the users’ phone allowing you to see up close as if you are standing next to the real sculpture.
Any “Blade Runner” fans? A user can add a model flying car from the new Blade Runner sequel and even a bottle of beer. Or add a man who is selling Bud Light. Take a look at new 3D Bimoji and the user-created cartoon emojis. To access the 3D Bitmoji World Lenses you need to hit the camera when you using the rear-facing camera (not the front-facing one), have a play with this as the option is near the bottom of your mobile screen.
Are you an artist?
If you are, pop over to Snapchats website and fill in the form – you never know! Your work could be next. The locations of the sculptures can be found on Snapchats site.
Some might have said that AR was on the decrease but this shows that AR is on the rise in Social Media. Even Pinterest is worth watching as the platform is getting a surge in visual popularity. Having not been a regular user of Snapchat or Pinterest (must be my age) this might be a good move to gain even more users on their platform.
Have you tried this yet?
